The Beverly Hills Century City Legal Secretaries Association (BHCCLSA) was chartered by Legal Professionals Incorporated (LPI) in 1948.
Our primary purpose is continuing legal education. BHCCLSA and LPI provide members with many opportunities to increase knowledge and improve skills. Classes and seminars are sponsored in addition to the educational speakers featured at monthly BHCCLSA meetings.
Any person who is licensed to practice law or is employed as a legal secretary, legal assistant, paralegal, law office administrator, typist, clerk, word processor, or reporter in any California law office, and any person employed in the courts, the trust department of a bank or trust company, or in the legal department of any public or private office is eligible to join.
Prospective members must have been employed for a period of at least one year at the time of application of membership. The prospective member should complete an application and submit it to BHCCLSA with the required fee. The application is then reviewed by the Board and, if all requirements are met, membership is offered and upon acceptance the applicant is installed as a member of BHCCLSA.
Dues are payable annually in advance, prorated between BHCCLSA and LPI. The fiscal year runs May 1 to April 30. The annual dues are $50 ($20 for BHCCLSA and $30 per capita tax to LPI) plus a one-time initiation fee of $5, for new members only. (Total $55)
PLEASE NOTE: If joining between November 1 and April 30, annual dues are pro-rated to $40 ($10 for BHCCLSA and $30 per capita tax to LPI) plus a one-time initiation fee of $5, for new members only. (Total $45) If you join during this time period, these dues are only valid through April 30. You will need to renew your dues at the full rate of $50 for the fiscal year beginning May 1.
Monthly dinner meetings are held in Century City on the third Thursday of each month.
The cost is $30 for members; $35 for non-members. An educational guest speaker is featured at each dinner meeting.
